Salish Sea gardens and landscapes

Vancouver Island

bcGreater Victoria and the Saanich Peninsula contains the most extensive Garry Oak woodlands anywhere in BC or Washington. The landscape often takes a Californian look from ubiquitous oaks, Madrone, and dry grass. Rare native plants including Erythronium oregonum, Camassia quamash, dodecatheon shooting stars, and sedum spathulifolium display spectacular May flowers where protected from weeds.
